TikTok Engagement Rate Calculator

Our TikTok engagement rate calculator works out any public account's engagement rate from its latest posts, both by views and by followers, and you don't need to log in.

How It Works

  1. Enter a Username

Type a public account's @username, or paste a link to its profile.

  2. Read the Numbers

The profile opens with its account analytics. Engagement and median views sit next to the follower count, and the full breakdown opens below them.

  3. Add Older Posts

The numbers start from the account's latest posts. Press Load more on its Videos tab to count older ones too.

How to Calculate TikTok Engagement Rate

Engagement adds up the likes, comments and shares on a set of posts. There are two common ways to turn that into a rate. By views, you divide it by the views those posts got. By followers, you divide the average per post by the account's follower count. Say five posts got 100,000 views and 8,500 likes, comments and shares between them. That's 8.5% by views. If the account has 50,000 followers, the posts averaged 1,700 each, which is 3.4% by followers. The calculator works out both for you.

By Views or by Followers?

Engagement by views measures how people react to the videos they actually watched. Engagement by followers compares the same reactions with the size of the audience, and the two can differ a lot. When videos reach far beyond the followers, the rate by followers runs high and can even pass 100%. When followers rarely react to the posts, it runs low. Calculators don't agree on which one to use, so check which one a figure uses before you compare accounts. On a profile here, the rate next to the follower count is by views, and Account analytics has both.

Why We Show Median Views

One viral video can pull an account's average views far above what a typical post gets. The median is the middle value: half the posts got more views and half got fewer, so a single hit barely moves it. That gives you a fairer picture of a typical post. The breakdown also shows average likes, comments and shares, how often the account posts, when it last posted, when it joined, and which of these posts got the most views.

Questions

How do you calculate engagement rate on TikTok?

Add up the likes, comments and shares on a set of posts. Divide that by their views for engagement by views, or divide the average per post by the follower count for engagement by followers. Enter a username above to get both.

How do I check the engagement rate of a TikTok account?

Enter its @username above. The profile opens with engagement and median views next to the follower count, and Account analytics shows the rest.

What is a good engagement rate on TikTok?

There's no single answer. Published figures vary widely, partly because some divide by views and others by followers, and small accounts often score higher than big ones. Compare accounts of a similar size in the same niche, using the same formula.

How many posts does the calculator use?

It starts with the posts on the first page of the account's Videos tab, pinned ones included, and says how many that is. Press Load more on the Videos tab to add older posts, and the numbers update.

Is this TikTok engagement calculator free?

Yes. It's free, there's no sign-up, and you don't need a TikTok account.

Can I check a private account?

No. A private account only shows its videos to people it has approved, and only public accounts can be looked up here.
