How to Remove Reposts on TikTok

To remove reposts on TikTok, open a video you reposted in the app, tap the Share button, then tap Delete repost. You can also press and hold the video and tap Remove repost. The repost comes off your profile and every reply it got is deleted with it. TikTok's steps have no remove-all option, so it's one at a time.

How to Remove Reposts on TikTok One by One

Everything you've reposted is on the Reposts tab of your profile, so start there. The steps below use the Share button.

Once the video is open, two other ways work too: press and hold it and tap Remove repost, or tap your own profile photo at the bottom and tap Remove. If friends reposted the same video, their photos show up there too.

  1. Open the TikTok app, go to your profile and tap the Reposts tab.
  2. Tap the video you want to remove.
  3. Tap the Share button, then tap Delete repost.

Can You Remove All Your Reposts at Once?

Not in any way TikTok describes. Its Help Center only explains how to remove them one at a time, and there's no remove-all option.

If you've been reposting for years, clearing the tab means opening each video and undoing it by hand.

In the meantime, a private account limits your reposts to your followers, which keeps them out of public view while you work through the list.

Is a TikTok Repost Remover Safe to Use?

Search for a TikTok repost remover and you'll find browser extensions, phone apps and websites that promise to clear every repost in one go. They come from outside developers, not TikTok.

And to remove reposts for you, a tool has to act as you. That means it needs your TikTok login, or it has to run in a browser where you're already signed in.

That's a lot of access to hand over, and a tool that's signed in as you isn't limited to your reposts.

TikTok's terms of service tell you not to share your password with any third party.

Apps that connect through TikTok's own login never get your password. Even so, the Help Center warns against linking your account to apps you don't know.

If you've already given one your login, change your TikTok password. That logs you out on every other device, so anything using the old password loses access.

Apps you connected through TikTok's own login are listed separately, and you can cut them off there:

  1. In the TikTok app, tap Profile, then the Menu ☰ button at the top.
  2. Tap Settings and privacy, then Security & permissions.
  3. Tap Apps and services permissions, choose the app and tap Remove access.

What Happens to Replies When You Remove a Repost?

They're deleted with it, every one of them.

Anyone who can see a repost can reply to it, and your comment privacy settings don't apply to those replies. So a repost can collect them even if you've limited who comments on your own videos.

To get rid of one reply and keep the repost, delete just that reply:

  1. In the TikTok app, go to the video you reposted.
  2. Tap your profile photo at the bottom of the video.
  3. Press and hold the reply, then tap Delete.

How to Hide Reposts on TikTok

As of September 2026, TikTok's Help Center doesn't list any setting that hides your Reposts tab or a single repost. On a public account, your reposts, any text you added to them and their replies are on your profile for anyone to see.

The only way TikTok mentions to narrow that down is a private account. Then only your followers can see your reposts, both on your profile and in their For You feeds.

Going private changes more than your reposts, though. You approve who can follow you and watch your videos, and people can't Duet, Stitch, download your posts or add them to their Stories.

The other option is to remove the reposts you don't want seen.

To go private:

  1. In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.
  2. Tap the Menu ☰ button at the top, then Settings and privacy.
  3. Tap Privacy and turn on Private account.

How to See Who Reposted Your TikTok

TikTok's Help Center doesn't mention a full list of who reposted one of your videos. You can still spot reposts in other ways.

A repost shows up in For You feeds labeled with the reposter's profile photo and nickname, and when friends repost a video, their profile photos appear at the bottom of it.

To find out whether one particular account reposted your video, look at its Reposts tab. A public account's reposts are open to everyone, so you can check in the app, or use our TikTok repost viewer to see the tab without logging in.

A private account's reposts are only visible to its followers.
